Jaime Sweany: Artist, Gallerist and Community Organizer
Jaime Sweany was raised in Indianapolis by artists Paul and Margaret Sweany. She moved to Bloomington in 1978 and graduated from I.U. with a B.A. in Studio Arts. With a life-long appreciation for nature, Jaime co-owned Wild Birds Unlimited (1995-2002) where she built enduring relationships with nature/conservation organizations. She operated Wandering Turtle Art Gallery (2002-2011) and won Downtown Small Business of the year in 2009. Over the years, she also served as Executive Director, Brown County Art Guild; Volunteer Coordinator, Sycamore Land Trust; and Associate Publisher, Bloom Magazine.
